Current Favourite Makeup Brand
12:03Becca is one of those brands that has really blown up recently. I'd not really been that insterested until I got one of the travel sized Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Opal for Christmas which included the pressed version of the highlighter and also the spotlight version of it. After using Opal for a while and really enjoying it, I decided to invest in a couple more of their highlighters, so I recently bought Pearl and Champagne Pop. Becca's highlighters are so beautiful. They glide onto the skin effortlessly and blend out like a dream, leaving the prettiest sheen. Pearl is my favourite and I must say, it is quite different to the others that I have tried - it's very powdery white and pearlescent - if you apply too much to one area, it can look a tad stripy and OTT, so does need blending out quite a bit. What I like to do is wet my fan brush with a bit of Fix+ and apply it to my cheekbones, then blend it out more when applying blusher and that creates a really lovely radiance. I find the colour really suits my pale complexion!
I'd also been after the Backlight Priming Filter for ages and finally caved on payday. I was blown away by how beautiful this product was when I first applied it. It leaves my skin looking so glowy and 'lit from within' - if my skin wasn't being so crappy at the moment, I'd be more than happy to wear this on its own!
Another thing I'd had my eye on for a very long time was the Ombre Rouge Palette. I kept putting off buying it as the price tag was slightly hefty for a little palette and I do already have a few similar colours in my collection, but I saw it come back into stock on the Space NK site and I couldn't stop myself. There are five colours with a mixture of cool and warm undertones which means you can create so many different looks with it. They're all colours that I've been loving wearing recently, so it's really nice to have them all in one handy palette. I've used it every day since I've had it and I absolutely love it. I've enjoyed warming up my crease with the warm brown colour and then popping the darkest colour all over my lid and blending it into the other colour and it creates a warm, almost grungy eye. This has quickly become one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes and I can tell I'll be getting my moneys worth out of it.
The last thing I picked up from Becca was the Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. I'd been really intrigued by this foundation and couldn't wait for it to come into stock on the Space NK website. It's a very light coverage, weightless, but buildable foundation which applies really nicely and blends out like a dream. It looks lovely over the top of the Backlight Priming Filter - the two together, along with Pearl added to the cheeks create a really fresh, dewy finish. If you have oily skin, it's probably not the one for you, but for those of you with quite dry/normal skin, I'm sure this would look lovely (as long as you like sheer coverage).
I've definitely become a huge fan of Becca just recently and there are a few more things that I've got my eye on but I think I've already been a tad too spendy this month, so maybe next month...
