Spring Wardrobe Update

18:30

It's that time of year again; it's getting a little bit warmer, the coats are getting thinner and the ankles are coming out!! I've been really enjoying buying clothes just recently and I've found some perfect pieces for Spring. I'm really into paper bag trousers, duster coats and comfy trainers (notice a theme with the trainers!) at the moment. Here are a few pieces I've put together that make me feel super Springy!

1. I've always wanted to be able to wear a pair of trousers that aren't skinny jeans. I bought these striped paperbag waist trousers from Topshop, not getting my hopes up too much as trousers never fit my bum. Surprisingly, they're a great fit. They're really big around my waist, but I can pull the belt quite tight and tie it in a bow. This doesn't bother me at all as these trousers actually fit my bum! I love high  necked t-shirts so I paired them with this and my boyfriend coat for a slouchier look (when it's a little cooler). I'd also add my Michael Kors bag to this outfit.

2. I like to call this my 'lazy day' outfit. When I'm leaving the house but want to be comfortable, this is the outfit I go for. The blush colour of the jumper with the rose gold logo goes so well with these khaki coloured jeans. I usually roll up the sleeves on the jumper to give the outfit a little more oomph. I also like my feet to be comfy too so I always opt for trainers with this outfit, this time I chose my Adidas Superstars. I'd usually wear this outfit as it is but if it's a bit cold out, or I feel like I'm missing something, I'll just add my black bomber and pop my bits and bobs in the pockets.

3. Last weekend I dug out my leather jacket as I was after something lighter than my winter coats, but also that kept in a little bit of warmth. I forgot how much I love the look of leather jackets to be honest, especially to give your outfit a little bit of that 'grunge' vibe. I paired it with this smock style white tee and my ripped Joni jeans. I added these Adidas slip ons (which are my new absolute faves) to add to the black and white theme and decided to use my little black Primark bag as the hardware matches that of the jacket. As it's Spring now, I whacked out a bold orange/red lip which just added a bit of excitement to the look.

4. Another pair of paperbag waist trousers - shocker! When I find something that fits me well and makes me feel comfortable, I like to buy it in every colour. Like the striped ones, these khaki trousers are really comfortable and flattering. I like to wear them with a black tee and black shirt jacket as it compliments the khaki. These shirt jackets, or 'shacketts' are perfect for the Spring weather, they're great to just chuck on when it's sunny out, but still a little chilly. I've also got on my Adidas Superstars for extra comfort and because they just go with everything! The bag I'd usually pair with this outfit is my little Primark bag, which I've got with me in my next outfit...

5. Another pair of trousers that I'm surprisingly comfortable wearing - and they're not skinny jeans! These mom jeans are the perfect for my pear shaped figure as they synch me in at the waist but don't cling to my thighs. The rip on the knee adds that little bit of detail and I like to roll them up to make my legs look a little longer. You can never go wrong with stripes so I went for this boxy tee and my huge slouchy cardi. I finished off the look with my little blue duffle bag and my Converse.

6. I LOVE dungarees. I don't know what it is about them, but I just bloody love them. They look so cool and like you've made such an effort with your outfit when you really haven't at all. Just whack on a grey or white tee underneath and your outfit is basically sorted. As I've rediscovered my leather jacket recently, I'll literally wear it with whatever I can and with this outfit it just works. Again, I've got on my Adidas slip ons for ultimate comfort and because they look bloomin awesome and then I'm using my trusty Primark bag. I finished the whole look off with my black velvet choker which makes the whole outfit look rather 90's - I love it!
