Autumn Lips

19:20

Our rubbish 'summer' seems to be over and it's getting colder, which means Autumn is only around the corner - it's my favourite time of year which means cosy nights in, orange hot chocolates, huge scarves, thick coats, beanies, fluffy socks, wooly jumpers, chunky boots and most excitingly - berry lips! As I am a huge lover of Autumn lips, I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you.

L to R: Diva, Ingrid, Glastonberry

MAC : Diva

Diva is the perfect burgundy lipstick for Autumn/Winter! It's the most 'matte' lipstick of the three and being more red-toned means it flatters a lot of skin tones. It's really long wearing and very matte so it can be a little bit drying, but as long as you've used a lip balm beforehand, you should be fine. I find that I can eat and drink throughout the day without having to touch up too much which is great. Every time the Autumn/Winter months come along, I get so excited to dig this shade out - it's one of my all time favourite MAC lipsticks.

Nars Audacious : Ingrid

I bought this lipstick last year and have loved it ever since. It's a lovely deep plum which I love to wear with neutral eyes and pale, glowy skin in the Winter. When it's first applied, it's more of a satin finish but as it settles into the lips, turns more matte which I like as it just glides on without too much tugging of the lips. Also, the packaging - firstly, it looks so sleek and simple (there's something really nice about simple black packing when it comes to makeup) and secondly, the casing is magnetic, making taking the lid on and off really bloody satisfying.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution : Glastonberry

This is quite a recent purchase for me and I am already in love. Can I just mention the packaging? Charlotte Tilbury always gets it SO right. The Rose Gold instantly caught my eye and it certainly does look very pretty in my makeup collection. I had my eye on this colour last year, but after buying the Nars Audacious lipstick, I didn't feel I could justify buying another. However, very recently I came to the conclusion that you can never have too many dark lipsticks, especially when your favourite season is Autumn. Glastonberry is such a pretty, vampy colour. It applies really nicely, is not at all drying and is really long lasting, despite being a creamy formula. I love all the colours of the Matte Revolution lipsticks and will definitely be saving up my pennies so that I can purchase a few more.
