October Favourites
14:56Essie Angora Cardi Nail Polish
- A really pretty dirty pink/mauve colour which is absolutely perfect for Autumn. The formula of this particular colour by Essie is really good - I only need two layers and I find it lasts longer than most of my other Essie nail polishes.
Lime Crime Cashmere Velvetine Liquid Lipstick
- Cashmere is a colour that I've previously found quite hard to wear as I've been scared that the colour has washed me out and made me look slightly 'dead' (great for Halloween I suppose). I've never really known what makeup to wear with it but this month I found that 'Limit' from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette goes with this lip colour really well. I always try to make sure I've got a bit of colour in my cheeks as I don't want to come across too zombiefied and I've found that to do the job.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Cream Kit - Fair
- I can't even tell you how long I have waited for this baby. I've got the powder version, which I love, but this is just on another level. When they brought the cream version out, I was so excited but after googling swatches, I realised that even the lightest kit ('Light') would be way too orange on my skin. At the beginning of this month, my sister texted me to say that the 'fair' kit was in stock and I nearly wet myself with excitement. The colours are just amazing - there are two pale skin coloured highlight colours, a glowy highlight and three contour shades. All of the colours are so perfect - this is definitely my favourite kit to contour with, I've done a whole blogpost on it as I'm so impressed.
- Two of my favourite scents combined. A year ago I had a massive Yankee Candle obsession and I've got to say, now that I've got my own place, the candles seem to be creeping in again. I've been lighting this candle every evening this month - it makes the whole house smell delicious and feel really cosy. I can't get enough of gingerbread scented things - mmm!
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - Pink Pepper and Mint
- As you'll probably know, the Cleanse and Polish is my favourite thing to use to remove my makeup. They've released this one for the new season which is 'Pink Pepper and Mint'. It really is a pepperminty scent but is still quite subtle and not overpowering. You already know what I think of the product, so the fact that it's in pretty pink packaging is a bonus - it makes it a little more exciting when you're having to repurchase the same product every month!
Pastel picture
- This is honestly one of the most thoughtful gifts I have ever been given in my life and I wanted to include it because it means so much to me. I love it so much and I am so grateful to have it up in my home - it is something that I will cherish for a very long time.
Coconut oil
- I've been loving coconut oil for cooking this month. I've been using the Vita Coco coconut oil with literally everything I've been cooking, from pancakes, to steak, to roast veg. I find that it gives a really nice, subtle hint of flavour to food and it's better for you than sunflower oil, etc, so that's a plus. It's a little pricey, but it is worth it in my opinion.
American Horror Story
- I've spent the majority of October watching American Horror Story with Ross. We've absolutely rinsed the first three seasons and are now on season four. I must say, season one and two creeped me out a lot but I literally couldn't stop watching. There's something about things that scare the shit out of you that are somewhat addictive and this is one of those things.
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer
- So, Superdrug now sell The Balm which is very exciting!! I popped into Solihull the other week and as soon as I saw the stand, I was straight over there. My sister purchased the Mary-Lou Manizer a while ago and I remember looking at her and thinking how amazing it looked on her cheeks, so I couldn't help myself. It's one of the prettiest highlighters I've ever seen - ridiculously pigmented and pretty damn intense (my fave), so you only need one sweep. The packaging is very cutesie and feels really nice and sturdy in your hand. I like this product, a lot.
