Anastasia Beverley Hills Cream Contour Kit - Fair
12:03When it comes to contouring, cream products are my favourites to use. I just find that they look so much more natural but at the same time, do a better job of sculpting and enhancing. I don't even know how long I'd been waiting for this palette to be released in this colour - I can certainly say it was worth the wait. This one comes with three highlighting colours 'Soft Light', 'Lustre' and 'Fair' and three contour colours 'Fawn', 'Shadow' and 'Mink'. I feel that the names by themselves describe the colours in this palette perfectly before they're even swatched.
The enhancing colours in 'Soft Light' and 'Fair' are amazing for highlighting the forehead, under-eyes/cheekbone area, nose and chin. I sometimes also like to use them to tidy up the contour on my cheeks and make it stand out a bit more. 'Lustre' is a beautiful iridescent highlighter which blends amazingly and looks so pretty on the skin - being the highlighter junkie I am, this makes me very happy indeed.
I've never seen sculpting colours as spot on as the ones in this palette, however, I'd say they really are for pale skin (perfect for me!). 'Fawn' has so much grey in it that if it were any more grey, it'd be on the verge of being slightly purple toned, so I think ABH have done a really good job with this one - it's definitely a sculpting colour. 'Shadow' is also really quite grey and is a really good shade to slim down the nose and 'Mink' is an all-round great contour colour. I sometimes like to mix this colour with 'Shadow' to darken the nose contour slightly and I find that it's really good for chiseling out those cheekbones, making the forehead look smaller and hiding that double chin that we all know and love...
All of the colours are such good quality, really pigmented and blend so nicely. I actually really enjoy doing my makeup when it comes to using this palette. I like to set all of the colours with a light dusting of the powder shades in my ABH Powder Contour kit just because my face does feel slightly tacky after using this kit, but I always expect that when using cream products.
I'm also happy to see that they have changed the packaging from the paper version to a sturdy plastic casing which I feel will definitely be easier to clean! As with the other contour kits from the ABH range, this one is refillable which I love because I always find that I have certain colours that I tend to prefer more than others and when one is used up and it can't be replaced without replacing the whole palette, it's really blooming annoying...girls, you know the feels!
