One thing that I'm really bad at is having breakfast. I just find that when I get up in the morning, the last thing I want to be doing is making time to squeeze in preparing and eating breakfast.
So whilst flicking through an old smoothie recipe book the other day, I came across the ingredients for a 'breakfast smoothie'. Smoothies are so quick and easy to make so I thought 'why not?'... You can even prepare the ingredients the night before to save time in the morning...and the best part about this one is, it's super healthy and good for you whilst being really tasty. I thought I'd do my own take on this smoothie, so I did change it up a bit.
To make this smoothie I used:
1 banana, peeled and chopped
1 apricot, peeled and pitted
1/2 mango, peeled and pitted
1 cup of milk (you can use whatever milk you like but I like to use almond milk)
2 teaspoons of wheatgerm
2 teaspoons of oat bran
1/2 cup of plain natural yoghurt
2-3 teaspoons maple syrup/honey
Serves 2
I just chuck it all in the blender and process until frothy, and voila!... Healthy breakfast smoothie!
If you like, you can always use two apricots or just a whole mango, or even substitute those for any fruit of your choice.
I can safely say that (for now) I am definitely going to be having breakfast every morning. It's so easy and you can change it up whenever you like...and also take it with you on the go!
I hope you enjoyed this little smoothie recipe and if you happen to try it, enjoy!
